Nearly 60 years of Kenyan programs: at your service
Somak Safaris · Original Kenya DMC · Locally rooted expertise
Somak Safaris has been organizing travel in Kenya since 1968. Over more than fifty years we have built the relationships, the routes, the guiding team and the owned infrastructure: Lodges, camps and safari vehicles run through our sister company, Ashnil Hotels and Lodges, that turn a good Kenya program into one your delegates talk about years later.
Preferred access to the Mara conservancies. Trusted partnerships with Kenya's finest coast resorts and Nairobi hotels. Our own fleet of safari vehicles, driven by guides who have worked with the company for decades. More than fifty years of on-the-ground knowledge, applied to your brief.
Led by Bushra Sultan, we bring a hands-on standard of service and a deep pride in showing agents the real Kenya.

Safari heartland
Big Five country, the annual wildebeest migration between July and October, private conservancies for exclusive-use camps and hot air balloon flights at sunrise over the plains.
Mombasa and the coast
Swahili culture and beach programs
Old Town, Fort Jesus, dhow sailing and long white beaches at Diani and Watamu, the coast turns a safari incentive into a full Kenya experience.
Amboseli, Samburu and beyond
Iconic wildlife, off the beaten route
Elephant herds under Kilimanjaro at Amboseli, reticulated giraffe and Grévy's zebra in Samburu, flamingo lakes at Nakuru. All extensions that give a Kenya program range and depth.

Client feedback
high profile delegation in Nairobi.
Duncan was an absolute mine of information and a pleasure to work with.
Your incredible service on 26 January even saved one of my team from a lifetime of misery when Duncan drove us around Nairobi shopping for rubies to give his wife on their 40th anniversary, he would have been in big trouble if he had arrived home without a gift!
Please thank Duncan once again for me."

Questions about working with a DMC in Kenya
The questions MICE agents most often bring to us when they are planning an incentive, meeting or event in Kenya.
A destination management company in Kenya manages every part of a trip on the ground: vehicles, guides, permits, accommodation and full logistics, so a client or their travel agent does not have to coordinate each of those pieces separately from overseas.
Both. Alongside incentive travel and safaris, our Nairobi team regularly manages meetings and conferences, sourcing venues, arranging technical support and coordinating delegate logistics for corporate groups, often combined with a short safari extension.
We plan for everything from a family of four on a private safari to conference groups of several hundred delegates, adjusting vehicles, guides and accommodation to the size and pace of each group rather than applying one fixed format.
Yes. A significant share of our work is leisure and family safaris, weddings and private celebrations, planned with the same local team and accommodation network used for our corporate and incentive clients.
Costs depend on group size, season, accommodation level and the specific experiences included, such as a balloon safari or a private dinner. Because we own our own camps and vehicles through our sister company Ashnil Hotels and Lodges, we can often hold more competitive pricing than operators working entirely through third parties. Every proposal includes a full cost breakdown before anything is confirmed.
For larger groups traveling during the migration season, six to nine months in advance gives us the best access to camps and permits. Smaller programs or events outside peak season can often be planned with a few months notice.
We own our own camps, lodges and safari vehicles through our sister company Ashnil Hotels and Lodges, rather than working through third party operators. That keeps quality consistent, lets us hold better rates, and means we can respond quickly if plans change during a trip.
Both. We work directly with corporate clients and also as the ground partner for international event agencies and incentive houses who need a trusted local team in Kenya, connecting through the Body and Soul International network where a client's program spans multiple countries.
Requirements vary by nationality and can change, so we advise every client directly on current visa and health guidance as part of planning, rather than publishing generic advice that may go out of date.
A hot air balloon flight over the Maasai Mara at sunrise, timed to the migration where possible, is our most requested single activity, usually paired with a champagne breakfast at the landing site. A private dinner aboard a traditional dhow off the coast is the most requested closing night activity for coastal programs.
Many stay at camps and lodges we own directly through Ashnil Hotels and Lodges, including properties in the Maasai Mara, Samburu and Tsavo East, alongside a wider network of partner hotels in Nairobi and on the coast for parts of a trip our own properties do not cover.
